Committees of SOYSA

Board of Directors

The decision making body of SOYSA is the Board of Directors. This committee is made up of volunteers who each are responsible for a particular portfolio. The Board of Directors meets once a month, usually on the second Wednesday of the month. All members of SOYSA are eligible to become Directors. These positions are filled every year at the Associations Annual General Meeting. If you are interested in attending a Board Meeting, please contact us and we will let you know the date and time of the next meeting.

Technical Advisory Committee

The Technical Advisory Committee is chaired by Head Coach Ezra Cremers. This Committee advises Ezra on matters relating to the key area of the Association, that is, soccer. Policies regarding league and program structures, player development, coach training and selection, and team selections are all handled by this committee. Committee membership includes the Head Coach as the Chair, the Academy Director, the District Director, the Recreational Director, and 3 other standing members as chosen by the Head Coach.

Referee Advisory Committee

The Referee Advisory Committee is made up of the Head Referee, the Referee Education Advisor, an Administrator, and a Referee Scheduler. This Committee advises the Board of Directors on all matters relating to the referees in SOYSA. Members of this committee are chosen by the Board of Directors. As this is a new committee, currently none of the positions are filled. The Board of Directors is seeking candidates for all positions. Please include your refereeing experience, any certifications you hold, and briefly highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities regarding refereeing.

Social Committee

The Social Committee is chaired by Social Director, Laura Kuypers. This committee is the fun part of the Association - planning parties, outings, and events for players and families. We encourage parents and players to get involved in this committee to create a great 'Club' feeling in our Association. Anyone interested please contact the office and we can get you started.
