The Board of Directors is the governing body of the Association. All members are volunteers, and the Association is subject to the Rules and Regulations of the BC Societies Act.

Board of Directors
Chairperson
The Chairperson is the highest officer of the Association. The Chairperson is elected by the members at the Association’s Annual General Meeting for a period of two years. The Chairperson acts as the Chair of any and all official meetings of the Board of Directors, and is a member of the three-person Executive. On the Board of Directors, the Chairperson only votes in the case of a tie. The Chairperson acts as an official spokesman for the Association to the public and all external groups.
Vice-Chairperson
The Vice-Chairperson is a member of the three-person Executive, and acts on behalf of the Chairperson in his absence from any official meeting of the Board of Directors. The Vice-Chairperson is elected by the members at the Association’s Annual General Meeting for a period of one year. The Vice-Chairperson acts as an official counsel to the Chairperson and an officer of the Association.
Treasurer
The Treasurer is a member of the three-person Executive, and is responsible for overseeing the financial concerns of the Association. The Treasurer is elected by the members at the Association’s Annual General Meeting for a period of one year. The Treasurer’s duties include taking a lead role in the Budgeting Process, Financial Record Keeping, internal and external Financial Reporting, and providing an adequate and reasonable audit trail for the Association.
Academy Director
The Academy Director acts as a liaison between the Board of Directors and the Association’s Academy Program. The Academy Director is elected by the members at the Association’s Annual General Meeting for a period of one year. The Academy Director’s responsibilities include reporting to the Board of Directors the activities of the Academy Program, and acting as a resource person when it comes to any issues relating to the development of the elite players enrolled in the Academy. The Academy Director is a member of the Technical Advisory Sub-Committee.
District Director
The District Director acts as a liaison between the Board of Directors and the Association’s District Program. The District Director is elected by the members at the Association’s Annual General Meeting for a period of one year. The District Director’s responsibilities include representing the Association at any meetings of TOYSL, keeping the Board of Directors informed of any TOYSL related activities, events, and policies that may impact on our District players, teams, and our Association, and representing the interests of the District players and teams at the Board of Directors’ level. The District Director is a member of the Technical Advisory Sub-Committee.
Recreational Director
The Recreational Director acts as a liaison between the Board of Directors and the Association’s Recreational Program. The Recreational Director is elected by the members at the Association’s Annual General Meeting for a period of one year. The Recreational Director’s responsibilities include keeping the Board of Directors informed of the activities, events, and functioning of the Association’s Recreational Program, and representing the interests of the Recreational players and teams at the Board of Directors’ level. The Recreational Director is a member of the Technical Advisory Sub-Committee.
Social Director
The Social Director will coordinate all Association social events like dances, parties, dinners, etc. This Board position will be key in building the ‘Club’ aspect of the Association. The Social Director is elected by the members at the Association’s Annual General Meeting for a period of one year. The Social Director will chair the Social Committee and will take a key role in assisting staff recruit, coordinate, and manage the volunteers who help the Association with duties such as Field Set Up, Concessions, Tournament Organizing, Clean Up, etc.
Equipment Director
The Equipment Director will coordinate with Staff to order, distribute, and manage equipment for the Association. The Equipment Director is elected by the members at the Association’s Annual General Meeting for a period of one year. The Equipment Director will work with Staff and the Treasurer to establish and adhere to the Equipment Budget.
Indoor Facility Director
The Indoor Facility Director acts as a liaison between the Board of Directors and the business activity of the Indoor Facility. The Indoor Facility Director is elected by the members at the Association’s Annual General Meeting for a period of one year. The Indoor Facility Director will work with Staff to plan, coordinate, and manage the operation of the Indoor Facility and will keep the Board of Director’s informed of all issues related to the Indoor Facility.
Risk Management Director
The Risk Management Director is responsible for all facets of Risk Management for the Association. The Risk Management Director is elected by the members at the Association’s Annual General Meeting for a period of one year. The Risk Management Director will develop policy and guidelines that will govern Risk Management considerations for all Board Members, Coaches, Managers, Referees, Staff, and other volunteers who directly or indirectly influence, affect, or have contact with the children and youth of the Association. These policies and guidelines will include, but will not be limited to, criminal reference and background checks.
